August 2021

Historically low interest rates, record fundraising, and an all-time high of $150B in dry powder have resulted in significant momentum in PE deal volumes over the past 12 months.

That momentum is expected to continue through the rest of 2021 and into next year. Private equity firms are perpetually pushing the multiples via every lever available—specifically driving value through senior executive level talent upgrades at the portfolio company level.

There is a ton of movement and a focus on talent at the most senior executive levels across every discipline within any private equity operating company portfolio. As always, CFOs are in high demand, as they provide a window into the health of the company and a perspective on operational performance against objectives. Operations roles have a direct impact on EBITDA. Consolidation continues to be a huge multiple driver, leading to a need for strong corporate development, strategic orientation, and operational integrations. That said, growth through acquisitions isn’t enough – companies also need to be focused on organic growth channels and operational impact on EBITDA. Operations, supply chain, technology, and sales all continue to be mission critical, depending on the individual investment thesis.

Below are the roles that are currently trending as hot jobs within the private equity and venture capital sector:

Chief Financial Officer
